Body (Candle)

The territory between a candle's open and close — net territory claimed and held through the close.

Full Explanation
The body represents what aggression actually accomplished during a candle's life. A large body in one direction means aggressive orders on that side were consistently overrunning opposing liquidity, and the territory gained was held through the close. A small body — even on a candle with a wide total range — means despite significant movement, most of it was given back before the close. Bodies dominating wicks in one direction signals that the dominant side is claiming and keeping territory. Wicks dominating bodies signals that movement is being attempted but reversed.
